After the latest Google Messages YouTube update you will be able to Watch the whole video without switching apps when you click on a Youtube link recieved in a text message.
The stock messaging app on android phones will soon generate previews of YouTube videos shared in conversations. You’ll see the video start playing and be able to tap on it to see it full-screen without leaving Messages.
You’ll also get rudimentary playback controls in the PIP mode of video playback.
Google Messages YouTube update
At the moment YouTube previews are treated like most other links. They appear with an image and meta text describing the link or video content. But as it says in the news users will be able to see a play button appear as they see within the Whatsapp interface with chating with buddies.
During Samsung Unpacked event, Google announced that YouTube links will soon be available to quickly preview from your conversations. You’ll be able to fully launch the videos with an extra tap.
This also includes support for Message Reactions. That would replace the separate text messages that are sent when an iPhone user reacts to a text with a “like,” “love” or “emphasize” emoji.
Another added feature you would see would be Group YouTube watching on Android. This feature was announced on Wednesday. It will allow people on a Duo video call to share, play and pause YouTube videos during a conversation.
Android has been trying hard to bring the texting experience on par with Apple messaging app. And since Android 11 they have been overhauling the messaging app with enhanched features such end to end encryption and alot more other features including this one.
