YouTube Premium is now offering a new annual subscription plan for new users. This version of the world’s most famous streaming service offers an ad-free video experience on the go. If you are fed up with those unskippable ads then this service is your way to go.
This service originally replaced YouTube Red and comes with several benefits. The biggest one we already told you about removing all ads across YouTube services.
Here is everything you get with YouTube Premium.
- Ad-free videos — no annoying ad breaks on any content on any device logged into your Premium account.
- Background play — you can listen to long videos, podcasts, and music with your screen locked.
- Offline playback — you can download videos for later offline viewing.
- YouTube Music Premium — ad-free access to the dedicated music app and its catalog of millions of songs.
- YouTube Originals — ad-free Originals and access to exclusive premium content.
The company recently introduced a new subscription plan which is detailed on Google’s support page. In this, you’ll have to pay the lump sum up-front, but you’ll get a per-month discount which brings the cost down to $108 for the year. That compared to $144 is not a bad deal.
Do keep in mind that it’s not a recurring plan. And once it ends, so do your benefits, and you’ll have to sign up for another plan. It’s a bit odd that it doesn’t auto-renew, but it could benefit those that may not want to go through with another annual subscription by paying another lump sum.
And this plan is only available to new customers. Current subscribers can technically get in on the annual plan, they’ll have to cancel their current subscription to sign up.
And f you already block ads on YouTube with an ad blocker, the Premium service might sound pretty useless. However, ad blockers prevent creators on the platform from receiving revenue from your views. For many, ad revenue is one of their primary sources of income.
