Google One VPN is coming to the world after completing its beta testing in the US. It will start rolling out for users in Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Mexico. Google one is a bundle of paid services provided by Google.
With this bundle users get Google Drive storage, priority Google support, and the VPN in one single package. Plus, the prices start at only $9.99/month. Google One VPN service is a one-tap solution by the search engine giant for encrypting your internet traffic.
Safe browsing with Google One VPN
A VPN secures all of your online traffic, regardless of the app or browser you’re using. It acts as a shield when you’re connected to an unsecured network (like public Wi-Fi) while also hiding your IP address. And with this new VPN service, Google says it will “never use the VPN connection to track, log, or sell user data.
The VPN service is only available on Android devices, for now. The company says it’s working on the development of a client for iOS, macOS, and Windows as well. Until now, One VPN was only available to users in the United States. And now it’s expanding the service to more countries.
The VPN comes included in 2 TB or higher plans in select countries. With this service, the company claims “Our systems have advanced security built in to help ensure that no one uses the VPN to tie your online activity to your identity”.
After buying the subscription Download the One app from Google. Enable the encryption by going into the “Benefits” tab > VPN > View Details. You can enable/disable the internet encryption from there. Users also have an option to add a dedicated Quick Settings toggle on Android by tapping the Edit button in the notification bar.
