Facebook app for couples is called Tuned and it was recently launched with just couples in mind. The New Product Experimentation team’s app, called Tuned, encourages couples to create an intimate social network with just each other.
Currently, it’s an iOS-only app. And using it couples can share their mood, exchange music, and create a digital scrapbook. Tuned bills itself as a “private space to get closer,” and it’s similar to several other couples’ apps, like Between and Couply.
What is the Facebook app for couples?
The app, as first spotted by The Information, connects to Spotify for music sharing, and a couple can send each other photos, notes, cards, and voice memos. They can also use custom stickers and reactions. It’s free to use and seemingly doesn’t require a Facebook account, although users are subject to Facebook’s data rules, meaning the data people provide can be used for ad targeting.
Just like many other Facebook app initiatives, The Tuned app is in open beta right now, and it looks like you don’t need a Facebook account to join in, just a phone number. Make that two phone numbers, because you’ll have to invite your partner before you can get access to it.
The Tuned app offers basic messaging tools like any other IM and social media platform. But it’s more about general encouragement, status updates, and sharing moods. There’s an option to post “love notes,” photos, stickers, and GIFs.
Easily send each other “prompts” that are revealed after both people answer, assuming you’re looking for new reasons to argue, and basic music sharing is enabled. Couples can also sha]re calendars. You can add in anniversaries and significant dates, complete with photos, and be reminded of them on a regular basis.
Generally, the Tuned app doesn’t seem much different than any other social network where people can chat directly with one another. You could, for example, send each other memos or voice notes with photos on any messaging app.
