Secure Instagram with WhatsApp

In the latest update to the Whatsapp messenger, users can now Secure Instagram with a WhatsApp account. Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps protect the user’s Instagram account and password. Facebook recently announced a new Security Checkup feature for Instagram. that will walk you through some necessary steps to take if your account has been compromised.

Some of the steps include verifying login activity and updating your contact information. Such as your phone number or alternate email address. The rise in the number of compromised accounts was one of the reasons why Instagram had to provide this feature.

How to Secure Instagram with WhatsApp

A report by WABetaInfo, a website that tracks features in the beta version of WhatsApp, shared screenshots of an Instagram feature that is prompting beta users to opt for two-factor authentication using WhatsApp. In the screenshots, there’s an option for the user to select WhatsApp as the medium to receive the passcode.

Users will receive a notification or be asked to enter a special login code once two-factor authentication is set up. When someone tries logging into their account from a device the app doesn’t recognize it. If the user opts for this two-factor authentication via WhatsApp, they will receive the passcode on WhatsApp along with the SMS. However, this new feature will be optional, according to the report.

Now you will have the ability to authenticate your account via registered Whatsapp. 2FA can provide an extra layer of defense. Instead of just relying on just your password to keep your account secure.

This integration makes total sense, given that Facebook owns both WhatsApp and Instagram. And when the feature becomes available for your account. You’ll be able to either have a code sent to your WhatsApp number. So check it out and let us know in the comments section below.
