The new Instagram Threads App has hit the Android phone market with a bang with reports coming in that a lot of Twitter users migrating or switching to the new app in order to check out its functionality.
And just like Twitter, you can follow anyone on this app depending on the type of privacy they have put in place. While a private profile of the person you wish to follow only shows the basic details, such as their handle and bio.
Threads operate similarly to Twitter by encouraging real-time conversations where users can share their thoughts, photos, and videos.
If a user has made their profile public, you can view all the threads they have posted. Also, it is mandatory to own an Instagram account to use Threads and the only way to delete is by deleting your main Instagram account.
Using the Instagram Threads App
As the app is relatively new and at the moment it doesn’t offer the option to search for topics or people using keywords or hashtags. So, the only option to search is by using the name of the user.
You cannot log in to your Threads profile from different accounts. You can only sign up using the credentials on one active Instagram account at a time.
Threads also ask you at the time of the installation if you want to request to follow everyone at once, which you can accept or decline, to send individual follow requests.
If a user violates Threads’ community guidelines and gets their Threads account banned, their Instagram account will also be banned. To change their Threads username, users must also change their Instagram username.
