If you are an avid user of the cloud storage service then you need to know the Google Drive spam Policy update. Because if any of your uploaded files violates the policy you will get an email notification if your file is restricted due to suspected spam file.
The update was announced in the latest Google Workspace update. Google has been working hard to reduce the amount of spam you receive in Google Drive. The owner of the item in Google Drive will receive an email notifying them of the action taken, and alerting them of how to request a review.
Google Drive spam Policy
When a file is restricted or flagged, it won’t be straight out deleted. The creator or owner of the file will still be able to access it and work with it, but it will no longer be possible to share it with others; even existing links will stop working.
Affected files also carry a flag next to their name, indicating that something is wrong. While the correct path of action would be to appeal to the decision if you think it was wrongly made. But it’s likely easier to just copy and paste the content to a new file.
When a Google Drive file is identified as violating Google’s Terms of Service or program policies, it may be restricted. When it’s restricted, you may see a flag next to the filename. Once flagged you won’t be able to share the file. And your file will no longer be publicly accessible, even to people who have the link.
